My Story

Hello, my name is Phil. I am what they call a "Motovlogger". In a nutshell, I record videos from my motorcycle helmet camera, talk about stuff and upload it to YouTube.

It all began back in 2013 when I purchased my helmet camera after returning to two wheels after an accident the previous year. It wasn't a serious crash, nobody was hurt apart from my bike, a Kawasaki ER-5. A car came across my path at an unmarked crossroads and I couldn't stop in time. The bike was a write-off and without a witness or camera evidence, there was no proof what really happened.
So after buying my replacement steed, a Kawasaki GPZ 500, I decided to also get myself a camera in case a similar incident occurred.

During my research into which camera to buy, I stumbled on the likes of Baron Von Grumble, Premises187, Spicy110 and more. This is how I discovered motovlogging, and later decided to get a microphone in my helmet to give it a try myself. I have a history in amateur radio, so I could apply some knowledge from that into presenting my videos. I launched my channel in July 2013 and quickly gained support from fellow motovloggers. This is where I started to realise what a great community it is to be a part of.

Today, as I type this I have just passed 2,600 subscribers and a total view count of 460,000. That is a lot higher than I ever imagined I would get in the 3 and a half years of doing this.
In that time, I have met up with countless like minded people and attended various meet-ups and ride-outs across the country. I have taken several bikes out for test rides and reviewed them, and I was even lucky enough to be invited to a press conference for the launch of the new Triumph Bonneville Bobber. Also I made a brief appearance alongside Smo and Red Renna on an episode of the Bike World web and TV program.

Motovlogging has given me some excellent times, and I have met some amazing people and made new friends through it. It can be a fun and creative hobby. I do try to upload at least one video per week, but I don't have a strict upload schedule. I wouldn't want the pressures of having a schedule to stick to, it would feel more like work than a hobby, and would take away from the enjoyment of it.

I would like to give a massive thanks to all those who have supported my channel, all of my regular viewers and anyone else who has taken the time to watch my content. It means a lot knowing that there are people out there who are interested in what I do in these videos. It's thanks to you and your kind comments that keep me wanting to continue this and be a part of the motovlog community. You are awesome!
